In a recent report, Il Mattino mentioned that Manchester United are open to paying €60m for Napoli ace Kim Min-jae. It is understood that the Red Devils are willing to push hard to acquire the services of the South Korean defence this summer.

Min-jae’s Impressive Form In Italian Football

Min-jae is enjoying a solid campaign at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona as he has put in a series of impressive displays at the heart of Napoli’s backline. The 26-year-old has found the back of the net twice and earned two assists in 44 matches for the Italian club this season across various competitions.

The South Korean sensation has proven his worth as a reliable performer on the defensive end of the pitch by averaging 1.6 tackles, 1.2 interceptions and 3.6 clearances per 90 minutes in Serie A football. He has even been accurate when distributing the ball from the back based on his pass completion rate of 91% in the Italian first division (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Naples club is set to run out in the summer of 2025. However, Man United are open to activating the player’s €60m release clause in this off-season.

Should Manchester United Boss Erik ten Hag Move In For Min-Jae?

Min-jae is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team on the defensive third of the pitch. He usually clears the danger when the opposition are on the front foot and can use his strong 1.90m frame to win his fair share of aerial duels. Min-jae is also an accurate passer of the ball.

At the moment, the South Korean talent is playing some of the best football of his career. Thus, it makes sense for Man United boss Erik ten Hag to move in for him when the transfer window commences later this summer as he could help the Mancunian side challenge for even more top honours in the future.

At 26, Min-Jae is about to enter his prime which makes him an excellent option for the Red  Devils to pursue in this off-season. However, it remains to be seen whether he can cope with the physicality and high intensity of Premier League football if the Magpies manage to get him on board soon.
