According to a report from Manchester Evening News, Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag is presently grappling with a squad plagued by injuries, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka now joining the ranks of his teammates who are also nursing injuries. This group includes players such as Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, Tom Heaton, Raphael Varane, Mason Mount, Soyfan Amrabat, and Kobbie Mainoo.
The Red Devils appeared to be in a favourable position to make progress, but they were subsequently hit by a series of off-field controversies and endured four defeats in the opening six games of this season, marking the first time such a setback has occurred in the Premier League era.
The Red Devils were defeated by Bayern Munich after experiencing a 3-1 home loss to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon. Erik ten Hag’s squad has managed to collect only six points from their five league matches this season, a situation that has seen them currently occupying the 13th spot in the league standings.

Luke Shaw: Muscular Problem
Shaw sustained a muscular injury during the recent match against Tottenham Hotspur, and it is unlikely that the England international will make his return to the pitch until the later part of October.
Mason Mount: Thigh Injury
Mount has been absent from Manchester United’s last three matches as a result of the injury he sustained during their two-goal defeat to Tottenham. However, there is a possibility that he may make a comeback to the squad for this upcoming match.
Raphael Varane: Muscular Problem
Varane sustained an injury in the recent encounter against Nottingham Forest. However, the former French international has shown significant improvement, and there is a slim possibility that he may be fit and available for selection in the upcoming match.
Sofyan Amrabat: Back Problem
The newly acquired player, Amrabat, had to pull out of the recent Morocco squad due to an injury, causing his absence in the match against Brighton. Nonetheless, there is a small possibility that he may be fit and ready for the upcoming match.
Erik ten Hag faces a pressing question regarding reinforcements in the January transfer window, given the ongoing injury crisis plaguing his squad. The recent string of injuries, which has sidelined key players, including the likes of Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane, has exposed the squad’s vulnerability in terms of depth.
With Manchester United’s ambitions to compete at the highest level both domestically and in Europe, the need for reinforcements in January becomes increasingly evident. Ten Hag will likely be evaluating his options carefully, aiming to strengthen the squad and bolster their chances of a successful campaign in the second half of the season.
