Manchester United have appointed Polly Bancroft to the newly created Head of Women’s Football role.
Bancroft joins United from Brighton where she worked as women’s team general manager since October 2020.
The club say she will work closely with women’s team coach Marc Skinner and football director John Murtough on a long-term strategy to be at the forefront of growth in the women’s game, from first-team level to Academy age groups.
Prior to her role at Brighton she also held positions at Uefa and the Football Association and brings more than 10 years experience in senior positions to the table.
“I am delighted to be joining Manchester United at such an important moment for the women’s team in this exciting era of women’s football,” Bancroft told the club’s official website.
“This is the biggest club in the country, and I am excited to contribute to the success of the club along with John Murtough and Marc Skinner to create something special in the years to come.”
