Manchester City are set for an audition from an exciting up and coming prospect from Northern Ireland following on from his showings for rivals United and Newcastle.

It is the latest development concerning the Premier League champions and their continued work towards cementing future talents for the Etihad Stadium club, in an ambitious scouting network spanning the globe.

Manchester City will have their work cut out should they wish to progress in a deal for Madden following trial, with the player also said to be on the radar of Liverpool, Everton, Southampton and Leicester City, as well as Irish League sides including Premiership champions Larne.

City’s Academy based across the road from the Etihad Stadium has been one of football’s most prestigious conveyor belts for developing the game’s latest big-name stars in recent years, and as such generating huge amounts of revenue for the football club.

In the last decade alone, the likes of Jadon Sancho, Cole Palmer, Brahim Diaz, Romeo Lavia, Phil Foden, and Rico Lewis have all graduated from the Manchester City academy system, with their collective market values sitting close to £450 million, according to some reports.

Foden and Lewis in particular have managed to cement themselves in Pep Guardiola’s set-up on a regular basis, whilst competing with Manchester City’s incredible array of world-beating talents from all corners of the globe.
