Manchester United and Liverpool are reportedly interested in Bayern Munich youngster Jamal Musiala.

Musiala arrived from Chelsea in 2019, and has featured 21 times for Hansi Flick’s side this season.

Goal reported a few days ago that Bayern had reached an impasse with the 17-year-old over a salary negotiation. They stated that Musiala was looking for a deal close to £100,000-per-week, and the club were apprehensive about making such a big offer.

But that report has now been debunked by Sport1’s Florian Plettenberg. He wrote on Twitter that there has been no disagreement between the Bundesliga giants and Musiala, and that the situation is relaxed.

However, the Daily Express claim Premier League giants United and Liverpool are reportedly interested in the midfielder.

The report claims that if a new contract isn’t agreed upon, the England Under-21 star could be tempted to look a move elsewhere.

Flick has high hopes for Musiala

The Bayern boss has been extremely impressed with the teenager’s performances this season. Musiala played a role in a Champions League group stage match away to Atletico Madrid in December, which ended in a 1-1 draw.

“I have to be careful [with him],” Flick said. “He is very much valued by our players, has tremendous quality, is calm on the ball and is difficult to stop in one-on-one situations.

“He still has to improve physical but we can be very satisfied with him. He’s a good option for the wings, At the moment, I see him as a first-team player. His development is the most important thing.”
