In a recent print edition, Mundo Deportivo mentioned that Manchester United have already made a move for Barcelona winger Ansu Fati. Former Barca president Josep Maria Bartomeu has revealed that the Red Devils had already launched a great offer to land the Spanish winger.
Fati missed the early stages of this campaign due to injury. However, since his return, the Spanish youngster has proven himself to be a top performer in Ronald Koeman’s first XI. The 18-year-old has made four appearances for the Catalan giants this season, netting two goals in the process across all fronts.
The Bissau-born talent caught the eye with his offensive contributions for Barca last season prior to his injury as he averaged 2.0 shots, 1.3 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game in La Liga. He was even tidy when distributing the ball in the opponent’s half based on his pass completion rate of 83.8% in the Spanish top-flight (stats via whoscored).
Fati is a quick and agile winger who can pull off a few eye-catching runs out on the wide areas. He likes to turn on the afterburners to beat his marker off the dribble and can even create some decent openings for his teammates in the final third. Fati is primarily a left-sided winger but can also be versatile enough to fill in as a centre-forward when required.

The Spanish wing wizard has added a few goals to his game over the past couple of seasons. Hence, it is no surprise that a top club like Man United had previously decided to make a move to acquire the services of the Barca whizkid.
At the moment, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has got Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial fighting for a place on the wings at Old Trafford. Therefore, the Red Devils manager has no immediate need to sign Fati unless he decides to sell one of his current wide players.
Still, Fati’s incredible potential makes him worthy of Man United‘s attention, so Solskjaer should think about going back in for him next year.
