In a recent report, Manchester Evening News claimed that Manchester United have agreed on a fee to land Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot this summer. However, it is understood that the Red Devils are yet to agree on personal terms with the French midfielder.

Rabiot’s Solid Season At The Allianz Stadium

Rabiot had a decent campaign with the Turin giants as he put in a handful of promising performances at the centre of their midfield. The 27-year-old took part in 45 matches for Juve last season, registering two assists and seven yellow cards across all fronts.

The French talent was a reliable performer at the centre of the park based on his average of 2.0 tackles, 0.6 interceptions, 1.0 clearances, 0.8 shots, 0.7 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game in Serie A football. He was even accurate with his ball distribution after completing 83.3% of his attempted passes in league football (stats via whoscored).

Rabiot has currently entered the final year of his playing contract with Juve. Hence, it is no surprise that Man United are trying to sign him on a cut-price deal before the end of this summer transfer window.

Old Trafford

Is Rabiot A Good Fit For Manchester United Boss Erik ten Hag?

Rabiot is a solid tackler of the ball and can earn the ball back for his team at the centre of the park when he is playing well on the pitch. He usually clears his lines when his teammates are in danger of being exposed at the back.

The French talent has got the vision to play a decisive pass in the final third and can even make a few clever runs with the ball from midfield. He is primarily a box-to-box midfielder but can fill in as a wide player on either flank if his manager tells him to do so.

At 27, Rabiot is playing at his peak at the moment and is well-equipped to make an instant impact at Man United as long as he can make a smooth transition to life in Premier League football.

We can expect Rabiot to add more energy and dynamism to Erik ten Hag‘s midfield. Plus, he could help the Red Devils challenge for some major trophies over the next few years. With all things considered, the Juve midfield ace would be a good fit for the Mancunian outfit as he is good enough to earn a regular starting spot in ten Hag’s first XI at Old Trafford.
