The Brazilian would be expected to challenge Luke Shaw for a starting spot in United’s XI, but he’s also at an age (27) where his experience could be something we lack in the back four.
According to the Telegraph, Manchester United and Porto remained at least £6m apart in their valuations of Telles as the Red Devils struggle to shift deadwood in their squad.
The report claims Porto are holding out for around £18m, but that seems like an unrealistic price tag in the current market for a player who will be free to talk to foreign clubs in January.
“Negotiations are not proving straightforward,” writes James Ducker. The biggest problem, as things stand, is United value the left-back at £12m.
