Manchester City have today confirmed that all general admission tickets for Sunday’s Manchester derby at The Academy Stadium have been sold.

The Cityzens welcome neighbours Manchester United to The City Football Academy for a fixture which will see two of the Barclays FA Women’s Super League’s in-form sides come together.

Demand for tickets for the match has been high and Manchester City have today informed FAWSL Full-Time that all general admission tickets have been sold. The anticipated attendance for the match has not been publicised, however, Manchester City are hoping to attract a record crowd to The Academy Stadium for a women’s team fixture. The capacity of the venue is 7,000, however, it should be noted that some seats will be left unoccupied with Barclays FA Women’s Super League clubs still following matchday COVID-19 safety protocols.

The two sides played out a thrilling 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture at The Leigh Sports Village back in October. Georgia Stanway’s dismissal left Manchester City playing the final 55 minutes with 10 players but they established the lead towards the end of the first half through Khadija Shaw. Manchester United roared back in the second half and turned the game on it’s head through goals from Lucy Staniforth and Alessia Russo before Ellen White levelled matters for the visitors with 11 minutes to go.

Sunday’s Manchester derby at The Academy Stadium is scheduled to kick-off at 12.30pm.
