The latest South American wonderkid to be recruited by Manchester City in recent months has revealed his first arrival in his future home on Instagram this week.

The Premier League champions confirmed a total agreement with the 18-year-old in January, with the Argentine agreeing to an Etihad Stadium contract until the summer of 2028, in a deal worth £12.5 million plus add-ons.

Manchester City supporters have however been made to wait a little longer before seeing Echeverri in a Sky Blue shirt, with the club simultaneously announcing that the teenager would remain on loan at River Plate until the end of 2024.

While there had been an initial plan to loan the Argentina prospect to City Football Group sister club Girona in Spain, the transfer ban issued on deals between the two clubs until September 2025 due to their involvement in the Champions League puts that move on hold.

It remains to be seen what Manchester City have in store for the youngster upon his arrival in England, however there has been a brief visit from the player in the north-west city for the first time since his contractual agreement with the Premier League giants.

Revealing his arrival at his new high-rise home in Manchester city centre this week, Argentina youth international and River Plate star Claudio Echeverri showcased the view from his new apartment in an Instagram post.

Despite attaching the location tag of ‘Paris, France’ ahead of his appearances at the 2024 Olympic Games in the French capital with Argentina, Echeverri revealed the skyline view of Manchester city centre beneath his apartment.

The wider understanding is that Echeverri made a passing visit through Manchester to finalise some of the final details of his move to Pep Guardiola’s side, en route to the French capital of Paris for the Olympic Games this summer.

Echeverri was named in Argentina’s under-23 squad to represent the nation in France this summer, shortly after the nation and a separate squad compete for the title of Copa America this weekend against Colombia.

Claudio Echeverri will also have the opportunity to play alongside one of his future Manchester City teammates this summer, with former River Plate man and Etihad Stadium star Julian Alvarez also part of the squad travelling to Paris.
