Joao Cancelo’s exit from Manchester City for Bayern Munich on an initial six-month loan deal was the highlight of a somewhat uneventful January window at the Etihad Stadium.
The Portugal international put pen to paper on a temporary move away from the Premier League champions, joining the Bundesliga giants – who hold an option to buy the player at the end of the season for a fee in the region of €70 million.
Elsewhere, City completed the signing of rising Argentine under-20 international Maximo Perrone from Velez Sarsfield, with the midfielder viewed as a prospect for the future and joining the club in February for first-team training until the summer.
With the bulk of Manchester City’s transfer business for 2023 anticipated for the summer transfer market, here is a comprehensive overview of all the deals that took place involving Pep Guardiola’s side.
