Manchester City make the trip south to face Brighton in the Premier League this weekend with the Citizens on a run of three straight defeats.
Pep Guardiola has been without some key names in recent weeks and the club’s injury list has contributed to a downturn in form. After a second-string side crashed out of the Carabao Cup at Tottenham, City lost at Bournemouth in the Premier League last weekend.
The champions then suffered a humbling 4-1 defeat at Sporting Lisbon in Europe, as Guardiola’s side suffered their heaviest loss in over four years.
City will demand an instant response but face a tricky test against a Brighton side unbeaten at home this season.
Manchester City’s list of absentees remains lengthy with Rodri and Oscar Bobb long-term absentees. Ruben Dias and John Stones are also out for the weekend, though Jack Grealish has been included in the England squad for this month’s games. That decision could indicate the winger is nearing a return.
Kevin De Bruyne has been included in the squad for the last two fixtures and came on as a substitute at Sporting. Guardiola will likely take a cautious approach with the Belgian following his extended absence.
A decision will be made on who starts at right-back with Rico Lewis and Kyle Walker competing for the role.
Manchester City predicted XI: Ederson; Lewis, Akanji, Ake, Gvardiol; Kovacic, Gundogan; Savinho, Foden, Doku; Haaland.
Brighton host Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday 9th November 2024. Kick-off at The AMEX Stadium is 17:30 GMT.
A Uk audience can watch the game live on Sky Sports Premier League and Main Event from 5pm.
