Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City look to get back on track in the Premier League this weekend as they host Fulham at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Following two successive draws in the league to Arsenal and Newcastle United respectively, Manchester City look to head into the international break with three points, with Marco Silva’s Fulham standing in their way.

The current Premier League champions did win their most recent match emphatically, defeating Slovan Bratislava 0-4 in the UEFA Champions League during the week, with goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Phil Foden, Erling Haaland and James McAtee.

Fulham were also successful in their last outing, defeating Nottingham Forest away from home and ending their impressive undefeated streak since the start of this season, leaving City and Arsenal as the only two unbeaten sides left standing.

Sitting sixth in the current league table, Saturday’s visitors will be no slouch for Manchester City, who will see this as an important game to rectify their domestic form and return to winning ways in the division prior to the international break.

With that being said, here is everything you need to know ahead of Saturday’s clash with the Cottagers, as the blues take on Fulham in the Premier League!

Team News

Manchester City will be without several key players on Saturday afternoon, including Kevin De Bruyne, who remains out with a longer injury than first suspected. The Belgian is expected to return after the international break.

Rodri and Oscar Bobb both remain out with long-term issues, whilst Nathan Ake is also ruled out until after the upcoming international break.

For the visitors, Carlos Vinicius remains out with a calf injury, while Jorge Cuenca is also out for this one.

Head-to-Head

Manchester City have won each of the last 16 meetings against Fulham, with a 2-2 draw back in 2011 being the last time they failed to beat this weekend’s visitors.

Manchester City boast a 17-4 aggregate scoreline across the last five meetings between the two clubs.

Across the two starting line-ups, only one player still plays professional football since the last time Fulham came to the Etihad Stadium and claimed a victory, back in 2009.

Statistics

Manchester City have won each of their last 16 meetings with Fulham in all competitions, the longest winning run one English league side has had against another in history.

Three of Fulham’s four Premier League wins against Manchester City have come at the Etihad Stadium (2006, 2008 and 2009). However, they’re winless in their last 18 against them in the league (D3 L15), losing each of the last 13 in a row.

Manchester City have won a penalty in each of their last six Premier League meetings with Fulham, the longest run one side has had against another in the competition’s history. The Citizens have scored all six of these spot kicks in this run.

Manchester City are unbeaten in their last 49 home games in all competitions (W40 D9) since a 2-1 loss to Brentford in November 2022. They would be the fourth different English top-flight team to go 50+ without defeat at home after Liverpool (85 between 1978-1981), Chelsea (74, 2006-2008 and 58, 2004-2006) and Sunderland (50, 1890- 1893).

Man City are unbeaten in their last 29 Premier League games (W23 D6), and if they avoid defeat in this match it will equal their longest run without defeat in their league history (30 games between April 2017 and January 2018).
