The view from Manchester City surrounding an incident involving Kyle Walker at the weekend has now come to light.

Reports over the last 24 hours have suggested that the Manchester City and England defender could face a police investigation, after released CCTV footage appeared to show Walker “exposing himself in a Manchester bar”.

Details emerged courtesy of a report in The Sun on Tuesday night, after a video included within the story appeared to show Kyle Walker dropping his trousers in front of two women who he then engaged in conversation.

A separate report from The Guardian highlights that Greater Manchester police could take action, if the video footage is sent to the force. The newspaper states that under the Sexual Offences Act 2003, “a person commits indecent exposure if they intentionally expose their genitals and intend that someone will see them and be caused alarm or distress”.

As various outlets and newspapers indicate that they have approached either Kyle Walker’s representatives or Manchester City for comment, a new report has now shone light on the early stance taken from within the Etihad Stadium.

According to talkSPORT, while Manchester City are yet to comment on the alleged incident involving Kyle Walker publicly, it is understood that the Premier League champions do not intend to respond today.

It is stated that Manchester City consider this to be a private matter, on a sanctioned day off for their first-team playing squad, and do not expect any charges or internal investigation to take place.

Additional reporting from the Mail states that they understand Kyle Walker has not broken any club rules while off duty, and the City star reported on time for training on Tuesday morning as the squad returned from their period of sanctioned time off.

As per The Athletic, Manchester City are not intending to hand Walker a fine or suspend him based on what they have seen.

On the matter, Cheshire Police have said, “On Wednesday 8 March, Cheshire Police were made aware of a video circulating on social media in relation to an indecent exposure which allegedly occurred in the Wilmslow area.

“Enquiries in relation to the incident are in the early stages and no arrests have been made at this time.”

The incident involving Kyle Walker came a day after Manchester City recorded yet another victory in the Premier League, dispatching of Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium via a 2-0 scoreline and goals from Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.

Kyle Walker and City returned to training at the City Football Academy on Tuesday afternoon following two days off sanctioned by their manager, and will now look to intensify their preparations ahead of a return to action on Saturday evening.

Manchester City travel to south London to take on Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, hoping to stay within touching distance of their challengers for the Premier League crown in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
