With two weeks left before the summer transfer window slams shut, the future of Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes continues to remain a mystery.
The 24-year-old forward no longer has a prominent role in the team, having seen his form and stock decline rapidly in the past six months or so.
No longer a guaranteed starter under new manager Xabi Alonso, Rodrygo has thus been constantly linked with a departure, even though he remains firm on wanting to stay.
But things could change in the final stretch of the summer window, especially with Manchester City lurking to make a move.
Indeed, according to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City continue to think of Rodrygo as their main target in case they end up selling Savinho to Tottenham Hotspur this summer.
There have been links to other players such as Xavi Simons and Magnus Akliouche in recent days, but none of the players are seen as targets by the Premier League heavyweights.

Instead, the main name discussed within the club is that of Rodrygo and Manchester City want to try and make a move for the Real Madrid attacker if Savinho leaves.
Tottenham, who had also been linked with Rodrygo, have made Savinho their main target now and have already seen a bid get rejected by Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola’s side are reluctant to sell but things could change if Spurs return with a bigger offer. The winger, for his part, remains keen on a switch to north London, which could also increase the chances of a move.
If Savinho does end up leaving for Tottenham, Manchester City could make a move for Rodrygo, although Real Madrid will only let the Brazilian international leave for a significant sum of around €100 million, as reported previously.
