With the return to Spotify Camp Nou not very far away as well as the presidential elections looming, Barcelona president Joan Laporta is targeting a statement signing for the summer of 2025.
And, as reported earlier, there may be a possibility that Barça consider bringing Neymar back, given that his contract with Al-Hilal is set to expire at the end of the season.
However, according to SPORT’s Joaquim Piera, it is Manchester City goal-machine Erling Haaland who is Barcelona’s greatest desire if they decide to go for a bomb signing in the summer of 2025.
The name of Haaland has been linked with Barça from back in 2022, before he signed for Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund.

Joan Laporta & co. have continued to maintain an interest in the Norwegian centre-forward and could consider making a move for him next summer.
After all, Robert Lewandowski, who will be 37 when the next season starts, will also need to be replaced with a top-quality player capable of delivering the goods in front of goal.
Manchester City are working to tie Haaland down to a new contract but it has been suggested that the Norwegian international is insisting on the presence of a release clause in the deal which would leave the door open for clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Furthermore, the possibility of Pep Guardiola leaving the Cityzens in 2025 could also increase Barça’s chances of luring Haaland away from the Etihad.
The Catalans, though, will first need to get their financial situation in order, with things understood to be progressing in the right direction as far as that is concerned.
