Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed that Erling Braut Haaland is in a race to be fit for tomorrow.

The Premier League reigning champions resume action against Liverpool and could be without the Norwegian striker.

The 22-year-old missed his country’s European Championship qualifiers against Spain and Georgia.

He picked up the knock in Man City’s 6-0 FA Cup quarter-final win over Burnley but the club did not detect anything.

Haaland returned to England for a medical follow-up and has joined training.

However, he would be assessed following Friday afternoon’s training session to determine his availability.

The Norway international has bagged 28 Premier League goals in 26 appearances.

Being without him for such a high-profile game could be a blow, but he could come off the bench if fit enough.

Man City need to win against Liverpool to boost their chances of retaining the title.

They are eight points behind leaders Arsenal after 27 games, but they have a game in hand.

With Phil Foden also out after undergoing surgery, Guardiola is short of attacking options for one of the most important matches of the season.

Julian Alvarez will be expected to lead the line if Haaland is unable to start.

The Argentine proved his quality at the World Cup and should not have a hard time against the struggling Liverpool.

The Reds have lost eight times this season and will put up a fight on Saturday.

Failure to pick up a result will further deal a massive blow to their top-four aspirations.

A cracker is expected and will be available to watch online via live Premier League streams.

Man City may have to get by without their prolific hitman, and it will be intriguing to see how they fare.
