Manchester City officials are growing increasingly concerned about the future of goalkeeper Ederson after the Brazilian was offered £900,000-a-week.

The 30-year-old, who has been at the Etihad Stadium since a £35 million from Benfica in 2017, has been linked with a big-money move to Saudi Arabia this summer, where the goalkeeper could play alongside former Manchester City teammate Aymeric Laporte and Portugal legend Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ederson has made 332 appearances since swapping the Portuguese top-flight for east Manchester, and the Brazilian international won his sixth English top-flight title in May, as Manchester City lifted the Premier League for a record-breaking fourth successive year.

The shot-stopper made 43 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side during the recent campaign, although Ederson missed the Premier League finale against West Ham and the FA Cup Final defeat to Manchester United due to a facial fracture.

Ederson suffered the injury during a defining 0-2 win against Tottenham in north London, and the goalkeeper has faced competition from Stefan Ortega throughout the 2023/24 campaign, as the German started crunch clashes against both Real Madrid and Arsenal.

Ortega has already committed his future to Manchester City this summer, signing a new one-year contract until 2026, amid surprise transfer interest from Premier League rivals Chelsea.

Ederson’s future remains uncertain despite Manchester City starting pre-season preparations this month, after the Brazilian was offered £900,000-a-week by Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, according to the Daily Star.

The blockbuster contract offer has left Etihad bosses ‘increasingly concerned’ that they will lose the 30-year-old to the Middle East this summer, after Ederson was offered more than four times his current weekly wage.

Manchester City officials are reportedly willing to offer the first-choice goalkeeper an improved deal, although any contract offer wouldn’t come close to the figures tabled by the Saudi Pro League club.

Al-Nassr will have to pay a significant transfer fee to sign the 30-year-old however, with the Sky Blues set to demand £50 million to sell the Brazil international.

Manchester City sold two players to the Saudi Pro League last summer, and as well as a ‘fear’ surrounding the future of goalkeeper Ederson, a further three players have also been linked with a switch to Saudi Arabia.

Kevin De Bruyne, Kyle Walker and Matheus Nunes are all further targets for the division, with De Bruyne having previously failed to rule out an exit from the Etihad Stadium in favour of a big-money move.
