There is no feeling of panic within the Etihad Stadium over the possibility of Real Madrid targeting one of Manchester City’s star forwards in the near future.

That concerns the future of Savinho, who only arrived into Pep Guardiola’s side during the last summer transfer window off the back of a stellar loan spell with Girona, driving the La Liga side into the UEFA Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.

Such were the levels of performance shown off by the Brazil international in Spain that Manchester City felt it necessary to sanction a transfer fee north of £30 million for the 20-year-old, in a significant boost to the finances of fellow City Football Group side, Troyes.

Savinho’s time at the Etihad Stadium has been mixed, but after a largely steady start in the Sky Blue shirt, a club-first goal away to Leicester City has sparked new-found confidence in his game, making him one of the first names on the team-sheet as of late.

But that sudden surge in performance levels has in-turn attractive watchful eyes from direct rivals in the European game, one of which is said to be Real Madrid as reports from Brazil suggested that Los Blancos were considering an audacious approach.

According to the information of Trivela’s Romulo GiacominCity are ‘not worried’ about Real Madrid’s reported transfer interest, and there is ‘no amount’ for which they would be willing to start talks over the player.

It is pointed out that the Brazil international has a long-term contract at City running until the summer of 2029, and that agreement does not have a release clause.

However, even in the event that the 20-year-old did have an exit clause embedded into his Manchester City agreement, it is reported that the fee would be of an “astronomical value”.

For now, Savinho will almost certainly remain focussed on the task at hand under Pep Guardiola, and is likely to believe that he has a lot more to give at Manchester City, thus keeping him at the club for a lot longer.

Reflecting on his time at Manchester City thus far, speaking after the midweek clash with Brentford in west London, Savinho told the club’s official website, “I’ve still got a lot to evolve yet.”

He continued, “I’ve got to improve my English so I can communicate better with my teammates on the pitch. I’m still adapting but I’m happy with how it’s going and always looking to improve.”
