Officials at Manchester City are plotting a blockbuster double contract renewal for two integral members of Pep Guardiola’s squad in the coming weeks.

It comes as many are wondering whether Etihad Stadium officials will recruit further in the way of first-team arrivals this summer, in light of the big-money exit for support striker option Julian Alvarez to Atletico Madrid.

The Argentina international put pen to paper on a long-term agreement with the La Liga giants, with Manchester City agreeing to a deal worth a total package of €95 million, with an initial guaranteed transfer fee of €75 million and a further €20 million in potential add-ons.

While the prospect of a new name coming into the club will remain until the summer transfer window closes, Manchester City officials remain active when it comes to retaining their existing superstar names in Pep Guardiola’s squad.

That stance has now taken the club in the direction of two names that have been nothing short of vital to Manchester City’s successes across all competitions over the last few years, as well as the retaining of the strong football philosophy installed by manager Pep Guardiola.

According to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, mainstay number one choice goalkeeper Ederson is poised to see his current salary increased to £200,000-per-week.

It is explained that the Premier League champions will look to acknowledge the Brazilian international ‘turning his back on a life-changing sum’ of money from Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks.

It is further highlighted that City plan to sit down with Rodri in the coming weeks and offer the Spaniard a deal which will see him ‘earn pay parity’ alongside Kevin De Bruyne and Erling Haaland on £375,000-per-week before a ‘matchday bonus’.

Among those to have signed new contracts in the last few months are Manchester City’s two back-up goalkeepers in Stefan Ortega and Scott Carson, with the latter being viewed as integral to the positive dressing room atmosphere and close union within the team.

As for Ortega, Pep Guardiola, Manchester City as an organisation, as well as the supporter base have been hugely impressed by the German goalkeeper, and his performances as Ederson’s understudy were rightly rewarded.

Bernardo Silva is also amongst the names to have recently extended their respective contractual agreements, alongside the likes of club captain Kyle Walker and rising Academy starlets Rico Lewis and Oscar Bobb.
