Bayern Munich have reacted to Manchester City’s interest in Germany international Jamal Musiala in an ‘incredibly hostile’ manner, according to new reports.

The Premier League champions are fine-tuning their transfer plans ahead of the summer market, with the attacking midfield roles and creative positions expected to be a focal point of their attentions.

Amid uncertainty over the future of Bernardo Silva in particular this summer, as well as some concerns over the longevity of Kevin De Bruyne, Manchester City are highly likely to spend large portions of budget on a new attacking midfielder.

That intention has led them to Bayern Munich, among other destinations in the European game, with former Chelsea academy product Jamal Musiala emerging as a primary target for Etihad Stadium officials.

However, and perhaps unsurprisingly given the talent of the player, a new report has detailed the damning reaction from within the Allianz Arena over interest from Manchester City in one of Germany’s finest young talents.

That is according to the information of Manchester City insider ‘Tolmie’s Hairdoo’ on X, who reports that Bayern Munich are ‘incredibly hostile’ towards interest from City in Jamal Musiala, despite the player being ‘very open’ to moving to the Etihad Stadium this summer.

It is further claimed that any agreement between the two clubs would surpass the £100 million figure paid by Manchester City to sign Jack Grealish during the summer transfer window of 2021.

Other options for Manchester City could include West Ham United and Brazil international midfielder Lucas Paqueta, who was a primary option for Etihad bosses during the previous summer transfer window.

However, the emergence of a Football Association investigation into Paqueta over gambling allegations prevented any move from developing, and as such Manchester City withdrew themselves from negotiations, whilst retaining admiration in the 26-year-old.

Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz is also a player Manchester City hold in the highest regard, however the German star is likely to remain with the newly-crowned Bundesliga champions into next season, with UEFA Champions League football also coming for Xabi Alonso’s side.
