Manchester City are reportedly keeping close tabs on Wolves midfielder Rubén Neves with the view to making a bid in January.
The reigning Premier League champions made initial enquiries about signing the Portugal international towards the end of the summer window, but were rebuffed by agent Jorge Mendes who insisted that the Midlands club wouldn’t sell after their promotion.
Goal claim that Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the 21-year-old and believe he fits the profile of player they are looking for.
Manchester United though, are also thought to be interested in his services which could spark a bidding war in the New Year.
Although Nuno Espirito Santo’s men don’t want to see the former Porto man leave, there’s an understanding that they won’t get in his way for a club with Champions League football.
The Goal story indicates that the player would be interested in going to City with Wolves setting an asking price of around €70m.
