Manchester City have reportedly lined up Declan Rice as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho.
Despite his advancing years, City have come to rely on the Brazilian midfielder over the past two seasons and had looked to sign Jorginho from Napoli over the summer with one eye onFernandinho’s retirement.
The Italy international eventually went to Chelsea and ever since Pep Guardiola has been on the hunt for an energetic, ball-playing central midfielder.
And now, according to several sources, including the Irish Mirror and The Sun, City have honed in one Rice as that player.
The 19-year-old has been one of West Ham’s stand-out performers this term, starting in 18 Premier League games and signing a long-term deal worth €60,000 per week.
It’s thought that West Ham, although loathed to lose a player of such quality, would listen to offers in the region of €55m.
