In a recent print edition, Corriere dello Sport mentioned that Manchester City are keeping tabs on Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic. It has been revealed that the Mancunian giants have asked for more information on the Serbian striker as they are in search of a new number nine.

Vlahovic’s Outstanding Numbers At Florence This Season

Vlahovic has made an incredible start to this campaign as he has put in several eye-catching displays as the spearhead of Vincenzo Italiano’s attack. The 21-year-old has registered 14 goals and two assists in 16 matches for the Italian club this season in all competitions.

The Serbian sensation has caught the eye by averaging 3.4 shots, 1.0 key passes and 1.1 dribbles per game in Serie A football. However, he needs to work on improving his passing when interchanging possession with his teammates in the attacking end of the field, as evidenced by his pass completion rate of 71.4% in the Italian top tier (stats via whoscored).

What Will Vlahovic Add To Manchester City Head Coach Pep Guardiola’s Side?

Vlahovic can do a little bit of everything in the final third and has developed a habit of keeping his shots on target. He has developed himself into a clinical finisher in front of the opposition goal and can even orchestrate a few meaningful openings for his teammates.

The Serbia international is proficient at getting himself into some dangerous areas inside the opponent’s penalty box and can also contribute by picking up some important assists for his team up top. He has got a strong 1.90m frame that allows him to hold possession up in the attacking third of the pitch.

Vlahovoic has the potential to become an ideal number nine for Man City if he continues to improve himself with each season. At 21, the Serbian talent is in for a very promising future at the highest level.

We can expect the Fiorentina whizkid to add a lot of goals and some physicality to Guardiola‘s frontline. Thus, the Manchester City boss should think about engineering a move to bring Vlahovic to the Etihad Stadium when the transfer window reopens this January or at the end of this season.
