It has been claimed that the Mancunian giants want to acquire the services of the gifted left-back as they look to build a strong squad for the future.

McFarlane has come through the youth ranks of New York City and has successfully managed to establish himself as a key member of their B team in the MLS Next Pro. The 15-year-old deserves a lot of credit for putting in a few eye-catching displays in that competition this season.

The talented teenager has done well to make seven appearances for New York’s B team but is still waiting to score his first goal for them.

His current contract with the American club is set to expire at the end of 2026. Hence, it won’t be easy for Man City to lure the promising prospect to English football next year.

However, there is no denying that he has the quality to become a future star in English football especially if he can continue improving as a footballer over the next years.

McFarlane could benefit a lot by joining Man City‘s prestigious academy. He could be nurtured into a world-class footballer under the watchful eyes of Pep Guardiola at the Manchester club.
