Munoz has featured in 27 games in the ongoing campaign so far, finding the back of the net twice and assisting four times. He is averaging 3.9 tackles, 1.1 interceptions, and 2.1 clearances per game (stats via whoscored).
The Colombian international is known for his aggressive style of play. He prefers to win the back and doesn’t shy away from tackling. He wins a lot of ground duels, can dribble, and has the ability to turn defence into attack at any point.
Manchester City have been using Matheus Nunes as the right-back ever since Kyle Walker left the club for AC Milan in January. Though the former name has been surprisingly doing well despite playing out of position, the club need to solidify their spot.
Hence, the pursuit of Daniel Munoz makes sense as the 28-year-old has already been proving himself. He has the experience, qualities, and determination to yield good results for the team. He is at the peak of his powers and can provide some useful years for the Citizens.
Manchester City have already made notable additions to the unit in the winter window. However, they won’t shy away from making more reinforcements should Pep Guardiola call for it. It remains to be seen if the Spanish mastermind will go after the Colombian right-back or not.
