Manchester City are monitoring Gianluigi Donnarumma’s situation at Paris Saint-Germain amid uncertainty over the goalkeeper’s future.

Donnarumma was a key part of PSG’s maiden European success this season, as the French side won the Champions League for the first time.

The Italian was outstanding during the club’s passage to success but his future remains unclear. The 26-year-old’s contract at the Parc des Princes has just 12 months to run this summer and there has been no agreement reached on an extension.

Donnarumma sidestepped the questions on his future in the immediate aftermath of PSG’s 5-0 win over Inter Milan. He said his focus was on performing for Italy in the upcoming internationals. Asked if he would sign a new deal, the former AC Milan goalkeeper said: “I don’t know, we’ll see.

“Now we (Italy) have two important games to qualify for the World Cup, so we must be concentrated and ready, especially in Norway, which is going to be really complicated.”

Donnarumma joined PSG on a free transfer from AC Milan in 2021. He has since won four Ligue 1 titles and the Champions League among his honours.

Manchester City eye Donnarumma deal

Inter Milan have been linked with an ambitious move to bring Donnarumma back to Serie A, while Manchester City are also watching developments. Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed the Citizens are considering an approach.

Ederson’s future at the Etihad is uncertain amid interest in the goalkeeper from Saudi Arabia, while reported target Joan Garcia is nearing an agreement with Barcelona. Donnarumma is viewed as a top-class replacement for Ederson as City looked to rebuild from a challenging campaign.
