Manchester City have a host of injury concerns ahead of Leicester City clash

Manchester City will take on Leicester City tomorrow at the King Power Stadium in a crucial Premier League fixture. Pep Guardiola’s side will face a tricky test against Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side. Heading into the game there are once again question marks over the fitness of a host of City’s players. That has been a constant theme of Manchester City’s season of late.

It is already known that Rodri, Oscar Bobb and Ruben Dias will all miss tomorrow’s match. The trio won’t feature in the foreseeable future. Ruben Dias is the closest player to returning to the pitch of the trio. But he won’t be back for tomorrow’s match against Leicester City. You could almost add John Stones to that list as well. The England international wasn’t in City’s squad for the draw with Everton. He was substituted at halftime of City’s defeat to Aston Villa due to injury.

Ederson, Jack Grealish, Matheus Nunes and Kyle Walker all missed Manchester City’s 1-all with Everton at the Etihad. Doubts remain over the fitness of those four players. Speaking after his team’s draw with Everton Pep Guardiola gave a brief update on Walker, Grealish and Ederson. He told the media: “Kyle was flu, a virus and Jack yesterday in training felt something muscular – a similar reason to why Ederson doesn’t feel good.

Nathan Ake and Manuel Akanji could also be in doubt for Sunday’s match. Ake was substituted late on during City’s draw with Everton. The hope is that his substitution was more of a precaution than a fresh injury concern. Akanji has played through the pain barrier to help his team. Both players will be needed against Leicester if they are fit to play.

Manchester City will be hoping to have some good news on the injury front for their clash with Leicester City. That will be known when the squad lists are released for tomorrow’s match ahead of kickoff.
