Fichajes has recently reported that Manchester City forward Ferran Torres is on Barcelona’s radar. It has been revealed that the promise of regular game time could help the Catalan outfit land the Spanish sensation from Man City in the future.

Torres’ Impressive Form In Premier League This Season

The 21-year-old has made a bright start to this campaign as he has put in a few eye-catching displays while operating as a makeshift centre-forward in Pep Guardiola’s first team. Torres has played in seven matches for the Mancunian giants this season, finding the back of the net three times and securing one assist in various competitions.

The former Valencia talent deserves a pat on the back for performing at a good level despite his recent switch in playing position. The talented attacker has done well to average 3.3 shots and 1.0 dribbles per 90 minutes in the Premier League so far. Torres has even been tidy when distributing possession with his teammates in the final third, based on his pass completion rate of 77.1% in the top tier of English football (stats via whoscored).

The Foios-born sensation is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until the summer of 2025, so there is no need for Man City to entertain any offers for their prized asset in the near future.

Should Man City Let Torres Go If Barca Come In With An Offer?

Torres has a terrific burst of pace that can help him lose his marker in and around the opponent’s penalty box. The Spanish player can be a joy to watch when he is dribbling at full swing but needs to find a way to improve his productivity in front of the opposition goal.

The Man City star has even got the vision to pick out a killer pass in the final third but can sometimes lack the strength to hold the ball up for his team. Guardiola is slowly but surely getting the best out of Torres even though he is mostly being used as a makeshift striker.

Maybe the Spaniard would be able to be more productive when he returns to operating as a winger in the future. At the moment, Guardiola would be wise to not let Torres leave even if Barca opt to move in for him. At 21, the 20-time Spain international will only get better with each season, so Man City should think about keeping hold of him for the long run.
