According to Florian Plettenberg, Manchester City are monitoring Dani Olmo’s situation at RB Leipzig.
It had previously been reported that Olmo had stated his intention to leave Leipzig this summer, amid interest from a number of top European clubs.
However, despite having a €60 million release clause in his contract, which has since expired, Die Roten Bullen failed to receive a single offer for the Spaniard.
It is understood that due to Olmo’s poor injury record, many clubs were sceptical of spending such a lucrative fee to lure him away from Saxony.
Nevertheless, over the past 24 hours, Barcelona have seen an opening offer for Olmo rejected by Leipzig.
This has forced a number of clubs to consider whether they want to make a move for Olmo this summer. As stated in the report, Manchester City are closely monitoring the Spaniard’s situation, and despite having yet to make an offer, they are keeping in touch with Leipzig.
Regardless, Barcelona are still pushing to try and get a deal over the line, and there is a sense that, as it stands, a return to Catalonia will be Olmo’s likely destination should they improve their offer.
Bayern also remain interested in Olmo but are focusing on beating PSG to the signing of Désiré Doué from Stade Rennes.
