The 35-year-old joined The Cityzens after leaving Everton back in 2013 and she has gone on to make 194 appearances for Manchester City in all competitions. The player has been a member of a Manchester City team which have secured eight trophies in eight years.
With Scott in the latter stages of her career, game time has become more restricted at Manchester City in the last couple of years, although the player has really stepped up in times of need. The midfielder is keen to continue playing for at least another season yet and she will therefore take up a fresh challenge with a new club in 2022/2023.
After Scott’s Manchester City departure was confirmed, head coach Gareth Taylor paid tribute to the player. He said “Playing 194 games for one club is an incredible achievement and Jill has played a crucial part in so many of the team’s successes over the years alongside making such a difference to the game as a whole.
“Her dedication and commitment to this Club both on and off the pitch is testament to her character and she leaves Manchester City with legend status and the gratitude of everybody here for her contributions.”
Manchester City will officially pay tribute to Scott next season in one of their matches. Further details will be announced by the club in due course.
