Manchester City have come out from both of their opening two fixtures with 3-1 victories, with a home comeback win against Crvena zvezda followed up by another triumph, this time on the road in east Germany against RB Leipzig.

Goals from Phil Foden, Julian Alvarez, and Jeremy Doku secured all three points at the Red Bull Arena, with Manchester City now sitting in a commanding position on six points at the top of their group.

John Stones returns to availability for Manchester City in the UEFA Champions League having made his full comeback from injury at the weekend, with Pep Guardiola’s side dismissing of Brighton & Hove Albion via a 2-1 scoreline and goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland.

Wednesday night’s visit to the Wankdorf Stadium in Bern, Switzerland will mark the first ever meeting between BSC Young Boys and Manchester City, with the contest also featuring the challenge of the Premier League champions playing on an artificial surface.

City have opted to rearrange their travel plans for the contest as they train at the Wankdorf Stadium on Tuesday night, leaving Manchester around lunchtime in order to acclimatise to the challenges of the synthetic pitch.

Ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League clash in Bern, Pep Guardiola has now named his travelling squad for the contest at the Wankdorf Stadium.
