Manchester City have announced their 21-man travelling squad to face Real Madrid in the first-leg of their Champions League semi-final tie on Tuesday night.
The Premier League champions continue to pursue three trophies during the weeks that remain this season, following an incredible up-turn in both performances and results in recent months.
Manchester City further extended their winning run across all competitions at the weekend, as they secured another three points through victory over relegation-threatened Leeds United at the Etihad Stadium.
La Liga giants Real Madrid are City’s next opponents, in the first-leg of a semi-final tie in the Spanish capital, as Pep Guardiola and his players look to secure a positive result ahead of the second-leg in Manchester next week.
Goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva, and Erling Haaland put Manchester City in a commanding position in the quarter-final first-leg against Bayern Munich last month, before a professional performance in Germany booked their place in the final-four with a 4-1 aggregate scoreline.
Ahead of a repeat of last year’s Champions League semi-final, Manchester City have now confirmed their travelling squad for the clash in Madrid on Tuesday night.
Goalkeepers: Ederson, Ortega Moreno, Carson.
Defenders: Walker, Dias, Stones, Akanji, Laporte, Gomez, Lewis.
Midfielders: Rodri, Phillips, Gundogan, De Bruyne, Bernardo.
Forwards: Haaland, Grealish, Alvarez, Mahrez, Foden, Palmer.
Nathan Ake is the only notable absentee from Manchester City’s travelling squad, with the Dutchman having missed open training at the City Football Academy on Monday morning ahead of the flight to Spain.
The 28 year-old was withdrawn from the 2-1 win over Leeds United on Saturday afternoon midway through the second-half, after appearing to sustain a calf problem that forced him to take a seat on the substitutes bench for the remainder of the contest.
