Manchester City are reportedly growing concerned with the future of Sergio Agüero as he continues to evade contract renewal talks.
Agüero is under contract until June 2021, but can negotiate with foreign clubs in January with less than six months left on his deal.
According to TyC Sports, City remain intent on offering the 32-year-old fresh terms, however all their previous efforts to have been knocked back.
Agüero has long stated he wishes to end his career with boyhood club Independiente when he eventually leaves European football.
“I always try to get back to Argentina,” he told Goal in 2019.
“I know what the Independiente fans want, but I have a contract with City and I try to focus on these two years I’ve got left.
“Then I’ll see what happens but of course, the Rojo [Independiente] is my priority.”
Agüero became City’s all-time record goalscorer last season (254 goals), in addition to overtaking Thierry Henry as the highest overseas scorer in Premier League history (180 goals).
