Manchester City are set to hire Lord Pannick KC In Their Legal Battle Against The Premier League | OneFootball

The Lawyer report, Lord Pannick KC is set to defend Manchester City after the Premier League brought more than 100 charges against the football club on Monday.

Pannick has advised Boris Johnson in relation to the Partygate inquiry as well as acting against the UK Government in the Supreme Court case over the prorogation of Parliament.

He is widely regarded as one of the best barristers of his generation and he has been known to charge up to £10,000 per hour.

Such figure would see Pannick earn up to £400,000 a week should he work full-time when the trial begins.

That would reportedly place him as the joint-highest earner at Manchester City alongside Kevin De Bruyne.

Even his typical rate of £5,000 an hour would see him earn more than all but seven of the club’s players.

The Lawyer report further states: “Pannick is rarely instructed on first instance hearings given the extensive legwork required for such cases, combined with his high fees. Manchester City’s instruction of him indicates how seriously it takes the charges.”

No timeline has been released for this case.
