In a recent report, The Telegraph (subscription required) claimed that Manchester City are eyeing a move for Wolverhampton Wanderers star Pedro Neto. It has been mentioned that the Mancunian club would have to rival Liverpool in the race to land the Portuguese wide player this summer.

Neto’s Decent Numbers At The Molineux Stadium

Neto is enjoying a productive season at the Midlands club as he has managed to put in a series of fruitful displays on the right side of their attack. The 24-year-old has scored three times and secured 11 assists in 23 matches for Wolves during this campaign in multiple competitions.

The Portuguese sensation has prove his worth in the final third by averaging 1.8 shots, 2.0 key passes, 1.7 crosses and 1.9 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even been careful when interchanging possession with his teammates in the opponent’s half based on his pass success rate of 83.5% in the English first division (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at the Molineux Stadium will expire in the summer of 2027. Thus, Man City would have to make a big offer if they want to win the race for Neto’s services later this year.

What Will Neto Bring To Manchester City?

Neto is a good dribbler with the ball at his feet and has got the pace to cause some problems for his marker out in the wide areas. He can create some decent plays for others around him in and around the opponent’s penalty area.

The Portuguese talent can even shoot the ball with power and accuracy from long range. He has done well to contribute by scoring and setting up his fair share of goals for Wolves this season. Neto is primarily a right-winger but can also play on the left flank or function as an attacking midfielder down the middle if needed.

We can expect him to bring more pace and creativity to Man City head coach Pep Guardiola‘s frontline. He would even serve as an ideal replacement for Bernardo Silva if the Mancunian club decides to part ways with the experienced wide player this summer.

Neto has what it takes to help Man City compete for some major trophies in the coming seasons. At 24, the best is yet to come from him, so Guardiola should focus on sealing a move for him soon.
