Hart returned to City this summer following two successive season long loans, at Torino and West Ham United respectively.
But the former England goalkeeper is behind both Ederson and Claudio Bravo in the Etihad Stadium pecking order and according to The Times, the Blues are willing to sell him for as little as £5m and could even let him leave for free in a bid to relaunch his career.
The 31-year-old still has one year left to run on his current contract and is understood to be hoping for a permanent move away rather than another loan.
But potential suitors haven’t exactly been queuing around the block to sign him up, and Turkish side Fenerbahçe are one of a handful of continental clubs understood to have expressed an interest in his services.
Hart joined City from Shrewsbury Town in 2006 and went on to win two Premier League titles, two League Cups and the FA Cup with the club.
However, one of Pep Guardiola’s first orders of business when he took over from Manuel Pellegrini in the summer of 2016 was to replace the former England goalkeeper with Bravo.
Hart’s loan spell at Torino was underwhelming and a series of errors saw him lose his number one spot to Adrián at West Ham in the middle of last season, and ultimately cost him a a place in England’s World Cup squad.
The four Premier League Golden Gloves he won between 2011 and 2015 is still a record, however, and he will no doubt be hoping to get his career back on track with his next move, wherever that may take him.
