In a recent report, Sports Illustrated has stated that Manchester City Ace Raheem Sterling looks set to exit the Etihad Stadium. It has been mentioned that the Blues have come to an agreement with the Skyblues after holding their final talks with them over a transfer deal that is worth £45million plus £10 million in add-ons.

Sterling’s Decent Numbers For Manchester City Last Season

Sterling had a successful campaign at the Etihad Stadium as he remained productive in the attacking third of the field for Man City, going on to lift the Premier League title. He registered 17 goals and nine assists over 47appearances for the Mancunian giants last season across all fronts.

He performed consistently in the final third by averaging 1.9 shots, 1.4 key passes and 1.8 dribbles per game in the Premier League. The English forward did well to distribute possession to his teammates, completing 85.4% of his attempted passes in the English first division (stats via whoscored).

How Will The Manchester City Forward Fit Into Tuchel’s Starting XI?

The major reason for Sterling to move away has been the arrival of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez which threatened his position in the club. Guardiola bringing in attacking reinforcements meant that his play-time would decrease significantly.

Thomas Tuchel reassured that the 27-year-old would be featuring regularly in his starting XI which lured Sterling to move to the Blues. Chelsea already boast a decent frontline but Sterling’s addition to the Blues would make a huge difference. With Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner set to exit, Tuchel would most likely switch things up in the attacking end.

The England international could partner with Mason Mount and Kai Havertz to form the attacking trio as he remains versatile enough to play anywhere over the frontline. The Jamaican-born sensation looks set to depart after seven years of a glorious career with the Sky Blues and it remains to be seen if he can achieve the same heights with the London side.
