OneFootball Videos

Andre Onana 4 – Well and truly beaten for City’s opener. Didn’t even react. His distribution was a tad bit below the standard.

Matthijs de Ligt 6 – Decent on the right of the back three and helped Mazraoui deal with City’s wide threat.

Harry Maguire 8 – United’s best defender. Very good in the middle of the three-man defence. Stuck to Erling Haaland like glue and ensured the Norwegian never truly threatened. Some very crucial blocks and tackles inside the box. An unsung hero for United against their cross-town rivals.

Lisandro Martinez 6 – Targeted especially in the air but he held his own. An OK performance really. A brilliant ball to Amad for the winner.

Noussair Mazraoui 5 – Difficult start as he made some sloppy passes and defensive actions but settled as the game proceeded. Linked up well with Amad down the right.

Manuel Ugarte 6 – Covered well for his midfielder partners. Kept it simple, recycled the ball well and looked to get stuck in. Needs to offer a bit more going forward.

Mason Mount 5 – Only on the pitch for 15 minutes before he unfortunately got injured and had to be taken off. Such a shame about the setback. Looked good on the left and was finding some space.

Diogo Dalot 2 – Just can’t seem to get the hang of the wing-back role under Amorim. Poor crosses that Hojlund simply had no chance of getting on the end of. Found himself in space at times but he failed to make it count. Failed to get tight enough to Gvardiol for City’s goal.

Bruno Fernandes 6 – Presented with perhaps United’s best chance of restoring parity but he dragged his finish just wide. Moved slightly higher up the pitch when Mount came off but he wasn’t as impactful as usual. Carelessly lost the ball a few times. Converted from the spot.

Amad Diallo 9 – United’s primary source of threat. Most good things United did in attack came down his side.Brilliant work to win the penalty and deseveredly got the winner to secure the victory for the visitors. United’s best player by a distance.

Rasmus Hojlund 3 – Like Dalot, he could have got tighter to Gvardiol for the host’s opening strike. Mostly had his back to goal, which is not a particular strength of his. Nice pass to Fernandes for the captain’s dinked effort.

Substitutes

Kobbie Mainoo 6 – Came on to replace Mount. Good in possession but didn’t offer much going forward. Some nice defensive contributions.

Joshua Zirkzee 5 – Didn’t do much when he came on.

Leny Yoro 6 – Helped get United over the line when he

Antony 5 – Same as Zirkzee

Victor Lindelof 5 – Helped get United over the line.
