Premier League club Everton have been put up for sale by majority owner Farhad Moshiri, according to a report by The Guardian.

The Toffees, currently joint-bottom in the table, sacked their manager Frank Lampard on Monday following a poor run of recent results which has left them in relegation trouble.

The changes don’t appear to be stopping there with news breaking on Tuesday night that Iranian businessman Moshiri has put the club on the market and would consider a minority or majority sale.

It is believed the 67-year-old is looking to recoup the money he invested in the building of the club’s new stadium, currently being put together in the city of Liverpool’s dock area.

The Guardian are reporting that Moshiri is looking for offers of around £500m for the Merseyside club, who he has been a majority shareholder of since 2016.

There have been a number of potential buyers expressing an interest in the club, who have not been relegated in the Premier League era.
