Julian Nagelsmann has refused to comment on the future of Chelsea ace Antonio Rudiger amidst Bayern Munich links

Speaking in a pre-match press conference (h/t Metro), Julian Nagelsmann has refused to talk about Chelsea ace Antonio Rudiger amidst Bayern Munich transfer links.

The 28-year-old centre-back has had a lot of speculation over his future this summer. Rudiger has entered the final year of his current at Stamford Bridge and an extension is yet to be agreed between the concerned parties.

If the West London club fail to land an agreement with the German, he would be eligible to talk to foreign clubs in January itself. However, it seems like Bayern Munich have already jumped the gun in initiating contact with the defender.

The Bundesliga giants are said to have made contact with Rudiger’s brother and agent Sahr Senesie over a potential move next summer, according to Goal (h/t The Metro). While there is no certainty on the decision the German will make, Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann has refused to comment on the topic.

Nagelsmann was hired by Bayern earlier this summer after Hansi Flick became the head coach of the German national team. The former Leipzig manager spoke about Rudiger’s situation in a recent pre-match press conference (h/t The Metro).

‘I’m not a fan of talking about players under contract at other clubs, and we’re outside the transfer period. He’s (Rudiger) a German international, and is performing very well. Thomas [Tuchel] helped him reach his best level.’

The centre-back has established himself as a mainstay under Thomas Tuchel at the club and is also a key reason for the club sitting top of the Premier League table currently.

However, unless the 28-year-old decides to sign an extension over the course of this season, he could likely leave the London club on a free transfer next summer.
