The Bavarian giants led 1-0 with minutes of the game remaining and it looked as if they would be crowned champions of Europe for the fourth time.

But United pulled off an incredible late comeback.

United were given a corner in the 91st minute. United sent forward Pater Schmeichel forward in desperation.

And they managed to level proceedings as Teddy Sheringham poked home from close range.

Almost immediately after the restart, Sir Alex Ferguson’s side were given another corner.

Beckham swung the ball in, Sheringham nodded the ball towards goal and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer turned the ball home to give United the victory.

Twitter user @iamcoxhead’s father was at Camp Nou and witnessed his side defy the odds to win the title.

He recorded the final five minutes of the game and, 23 years on from the final, the footage has been released for the first time.

The footage is so wild it’s gone viral and you can view it below…

Absolute scenes. @iamcoxhead’s father had a great seat to witness history. It was absolute scenes when Solskjaer scored the winner with virtually the last kick of the game.

As the celebrations die down slightly, the man who recorded the footage turns to the camera and says: “Only United can do this. Only United. There’s only one! Only one!”

23 years on and United’s defeat of Bayern in the 1999 Champions League finals remains one of the greatest comebacks in the history of the sport.
