Man Utd youngster Dion McGhee signs first professional contract

Manchester United youngster Dion McGhee has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 17-year-old is seen as one of the brightest youth prospects at Old Trafford, recently starring for the Under-18s team managed by Nicky Butt.

“My family and my coaches have helped me kick on and improved me as a person,” he told the club’s official website.

“[United have] the best facilities in the country. What a place and what a club Manchester United is.

“This [signing a first professional contract] is just a confidence-booster for next season.

“I’ve already got my goals and targets, now it’s just [about] pushing on and keep achieving.

“It’s time to relax a bit now but I’ll come back hungrier than ever and ready to go next season.”
