Manchester United target Hakim Ziyech is open to talking to Erik ten Hag about a move to Old Trafford this summer, claims transfer insider Dean Jones.

The £100,000-a-week Chelsea winger is thought to be high on the Dutchman’s list, and Jones understands that he is ready to listen to what the Red Devils have to say.

What is the latest news involving Ziyech?

Journalist Nabil Djellit recently claimed that Ten Hag wants Ziyech and that United are prepared to make a move for him if the price is right.

AC Milan are also thought to be interested in the 29-year-old, but reports from Italy suggest that the Serie A giants are struggling to strike a deal with Chelsea.

As a result, United could end up getting a free run at Ziyech with there not being too many other clubs being linked with the ex-Morocco international, who has been hailed as a “world-class player” by team-mate Mason Mount.

He is someone who Ten Hag obviously knows well, with the two previously working together at Ajax.

What has Jones said about Ziyech to United?

Jones has told GIVEMESPORT that Ziyech is ready to talk to United as a move to Milan becomes more unlikely.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “Hakim Ziyech is frustrated at the lack of pathways out of Chelsea now that Milan move is looking so unlikely, and I’m told he would be open to at least talking to United to see if it gives him the chance of more game time in the Premier League.”

Could Ziyech rediscover his best form at Old Trafford?

It is probably fair to say that Ziyech’s £33.3m move from Ajax to Chelsea has not exactly gone to plan.

There has been some good moments, with the Blues star scoring twice against Manchester City in the 2020/21 season and winning the Champions League in that very same campaign. The Stamford Bridge faithful are also unlikely to forget his incredible strike in a 2-0 win over Tottenham.

Which year did Wayne Rooney leave Manchester United?

2015 2017 2019 2021

Overall, though, he has been largely inconsistent and has found himself in and out of the team, making just 23 top-flight appearances last term.

A switch to Old Trafford, however, could help him get back to his best. He has probably played the best football of his career under Ten Hag, scoring 35 goals and providing 53 assists in 100 appearances for the 52-year-old, according to Transfermarkt.
