Manchester United will not play on Boxing Day, a day that is traditionally reserved for football on the English calendar.

The day after Christmas is a big day in the Premier League, with nearly every team having a game.

However, the United website has confirmed that they will instead play in December 27th, when they take on Newcastle United.

The fixture tweak means it is the first time since 2009 that United do not have a Boxing Day game.

The last time they played on December 27th, United beat Hull City 3-1 through goals from Wayne Rooney, Dimitar Berbatov, and a Michael Dawson own goal.
