Manchester United are actively pursuing Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro in addition to Matthijs de Ligt, according to The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The Red Devils are aiming to strengthen their central defensive department, and De Ligt has recently emerged as the priority target for the position.
United are reportedly working on deals to sign Joshua Zirkzee and De Ligt from Bologna and Bayern Munich respectively.
The Red Devils are also actively pursuing Lille centre-back Yoro, although Real Madrid are considered favourites to sign him.
De Ligt has already given the green light for a transfer, and United are currently aiming to negotiate a suitable fee with Bayern to secure his signature.
However, the club are still in the transfer market for another young centre-back. Yoro is considered a ‘unique market opportunity‘, but it won’t be easy to sign him.
Yoro is expected to leave Lille with his contract expiring next June. However, he seems insistent about joining Real Madrid amid interest from elsewhere.
Los Blancos are only willing to pay £34m and believe they could sign him for even less.
Lille are looking for around £59m to part ways with the teenager. United are reportedly willing to meet their demands.
The Red Devils could play the waiting game for Yoro. If the teenager has a change of heart, they could grab the opportunity to sign him.
