Rashford struggled with the injury for the majority of last season but managed it throughout the campaign and into this summer’s European Championship.
He is now finally close to putting those worries behind him but there are now reports that Manchester United want Rashford to gain more muscle in order to prevent further injuries. That’s according to the Daily Mail, who say that the club is pushing the idea in a bid to limit further spells on the sidelines.
As per the detailed report, Rashford added 4kg to his lower body as he recovered from the shoulder surgery but has lost muscle on his upper half as a result. Manchester United are said to be believing added muscle would help him deal with the physical nature of the Premier League.
There are positive signs for the tricky winger – he has already made his unofficial return to the pitch, having scored two goals in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Blackburn last week.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be relieved to have Rashford back – he is the top goalscorer under the Norwegian manager at United, having found the net 35 times in the Premier League since he took over in December 2018.
