Manchester United and Arsenal go head-to-head on Sunday in arguably the most mouth-watering Premier League fixture of the weekend.

United have bounced back from concerning back-to-back defeats against Brighton and Brentford with a run of three straight wins over Liverpool, Southampton and Leicester City.

As a result, Erik ten Hag’s men will be confident that they can become the first Premier League side this season to prevent Arsenal from securing all three points.

The Gunners have won all five of their fixtures at the start of the 2022-23 campaign (against Crystal Palace, Leicester, Bournemouth, Fulham and Aston Villa), producing some scintillating football in the process.

Ahead of this weekend’s clash at Old Trafford, popular YouTuber Mark Goldbridge has named his Man Utd vs Arsenal Combined XI.

And needless to say, it’s caused quite a stir on social media.

Goalkeeper

“In goal, David de Gea. Loads of people will say Ramsdale because it’s fashionable to go in on De Gea. Ramsdale’s not especially good at passing out from the back, either. For me, De Gea is ahead of Ramsdale.”

Right-back

“At right-back, [Diogo] Dalot. I’m sorry, Ben White has done a very good job at right-back, but he ain’t no right-back! [Takehiro] Tomiyasu’s only just coming back, we’re talking about right here right now, form – not anything else.”

Centre-back

“[Raphael] Varane has to be in there. I’ve been very impressed with [William] Saliba and Gabriel [Magalhaes] – they’ve done a good job – but Varane has to go in, for me.”

“As a Man Utd fan, I’m going to put [Lisandro] Martinez in there, but I will concede there’s no problem putting Saliba there. I can’t split those two.”

“I would like to put [Jadon] Sancho there but I’m actually going to go with [Gabriel] Martinelli because I think he’s been brilliant for Arsenal in the opening stages.”
