Manchester United Under-23s coach Neil Wood has spoken about the impact of Anthony Elanga on the first team.
The youngster has excelled under Ralf Rangnick this season, providing valuable goals and assists to the Red Devils during a tricky phase of their season.
The 19-year-old can serve as an inspiration to other academy players, suggesting they will get a chance if they show their quality in training and matches, according to Wood.
"When you look around at Europe and look at the amount of young players that have played in this competition [UEFA Youth League] that have gone on to play for their first team, the numbers are really high," Wood told Callum McFadden's YouTube.
"Teden [Mengi] has gone out on loan, Hannibal has been training with the first team and everyone has seen the impact that Anthony [Elanga] has had. Anthony has been with us for the last two or three years and we could see the improvement in his development.
"Even from a young age, we worked in the academy with him, you could see his character, you could see he was driven and he always wanted to improve. Everyone is really pleased for him and proud of what he's achieved over the last few games.
"There's still areas of his game to improve, but he's got his chance and he's starting to take it. It's really important for the other young players to see that. They see what he's done and he's a great example for them."
