Reported Man Utd target Rasmus Hojlund before a game for Denmark.
Manchester United are reportedly preparing an official offer for Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund after a verbal proposal was deemed too low.
Erik ten Hag has made the signing of a new No. 9 one of his top priorities this summer.
He has already brought in Mason Mount from Chelsea and Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana from Inter.

The Red Devils had a budget of around £100million going into the summer transfer window and have already spent that on signing those two players, but they are pushing to bring in Danish youngster Hojlund.
They may have to sell one or two players before getting the signing over the line, though. Harry Maguire, Scott McTominay and Fred have all been linked with an exit while Anthony Elanga is closing in on a £15m move to Nottingham Forest.
Hojlund, who scored nine goals in 32 Serie A appearances last term, is expected to cost at least £60m.
, though United appear to be confident they will get their man.
According to Alfredo Pedulla, Ten Hag’s side believe they will be able to complete the signing of Hojlund with less fuss than their acquisition of Onana.
United are going to attack the signing similarly to the Onana deal and after making the 20-year-old ‘an increasingly concrete target’, the Premier League club are definitely leading the race ahead of PSG, Pedulla says.
Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini apparently wants the Danish international’s future resolved by the end of July, which gives United fans hope of a quick deal.
The report says an ‘official offer’ is expected to come next week after United’s ‘verbal’ offer was ‘considered too low’.
Pedulla adds that Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat is ‘a prominent name’ on Ten Hag’s shortlist, but the Dutch manager ‘wants to close’ the Hojlund deal first.
Speaking earlier this month, Gasperini admitted he does not know what the future holds for Hojlund.
“The transfer market is unpredictable and players like Hojlund can reach important figures,” he said.
“Honestly, I don’t know if he will stay. Over the last few years, we’ve trained during the pre-season with uncertainty about who stays and who goes. Hojlund is surely among the best-emerging strikers in Europe.”
